Choice and Chance is a series of paintings created by the effects of mindful choice and those of blind chance.   I, the artist, make choices---the size and shape of the canvas, the paint colors, and the angle and degree of pressure I apply to a large squeegee-like device used to spread randomly multiple colors of paint over the canvas.  Chance leaves behind colorful patterns and shapes.  Often I then add or scrape away paint or "attack" the painted surface with an assortment of tools to make marks for additional visual and textural interest. Paintings arrive ready to hang with necessary hardware.   A Certificate of Authenticity accompanies each painting.
